Activities

Does anyone remember the Cornflake boxes , flour and water and those huge watercolour pallets? We were placed in the care of another new lady teacher , I think this was just before I left St Marks in 1960. She was filling in for Mrs Holt again far as I can recall. We had to bring Cornflake boxes to turn into African masks. It was amazing for me , I could slop around while mixing flour and water , it was a massive release from the tension of the three Rs. We made these masks during the last period of one afternoon and then we had the joy of painting them during the last period of the next afternoon. I took mine proudly home but my mother was shocked by it and I am sure it was binned.
